Christina M. Rieker is a partner with Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP. Her practice focuses primarily on the defense of professionals, including attorneys, accountants, appraisers, architects, engineers, physicians, and insurance agents and brokers. Her practice also includes the defense of broker-dealers and registered representatives in customer disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

 

Ms. Rieker is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, where she earned her B.A., cum laude, in English. She received her J.D. from New York Law School.

 

Ms. Rieker is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). Ms. Rieker was selected by Super Lawyers® as a New York Metro "Rising Star" in 2015 and 2016.

Dove A.E. Burns focuses her practice on employment law and professional liability. She has experience defending corporate clients and executives, professional service providers, multibillion-dollar international restaurant chains, hospitals, municipalities, housing authorities, nonprofits, and boards of directors in a variety of high-exposure matters.

 

She has tried numerous cases to verdict and has resolved disputes through arbitration, mediation, and conciliation.

 

She provides proactive counsel to employers, handles employment and severance agreements, drafts policy manuals and other management documents and conducts training sessions to aide employers in minimizing and the risk of litigation. 

Mercedes Colwin

Mercedes Colwin is a partner in the New York office of Gordon & Rees. She handles a wide variety of litigation, including employment law, commercial litigation, class actions, products liability, professional liability, wage and hour class actions, civil rights violations and criminal law.

 

Ms. Colwin has successfully tried 48 cases to verdict in various jurisdictions throughout the country. Ms. Colwin regularly defends corporate executives from Fortune 500 companies accused of wrongdoing including claims of sexual misconduct. Prior to private practice, Ms. Colwin served as an Administrative Law Judge for the New York State Division of Human Rights.

 

During her nine years of service, while a partner at a major regional New York law firm, she presided over three thousand cases brought under the federal and state discrimination laws.
